In the story of the film, ex-Marine Terry (Aaron Pierre) wants to find his get wrongfully imprisoned cousin out of prison. But the local cops are so corrupt that they keep the main character’s bail and still don’t release the cousin. The situation between Terry and the police escalates more and more until it reaches a merciless escalation.
John Boyega quit Netflix’s lead role during filming
Instead of Aaron Pierre, Star Wars star John Boyega was initially on board to play the lead in Saulnier’s film. In 2021, Deadline then reported that the actor would drop out of filming. Family matters were given as the reason.
The Hollywood Reporter subsequently collected reports from anonymous set sources that Boyega disagreed with various conditions such as the script or his accommodation and simply left. These are unconfirmed assumptions.
