The person who made the post said a friend was assaulted “both on foot while walking her two dogs as well as in her vehicle.”

Posts by other individuals in response to the woman’s post mention incidents on the Waterford trail.

While police aren’t investigating the alleged incident, they are urging bail when residents are walking the trails.

“The safety of all trail users in Norfolk County is crucial, and we urge everyone using these trail systems to stay aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious or criminal activity to the police,” said Norfolk OPP Const. Andrew Gamble.

By Friday afternoon the online post had generated about 170 comments from people, some of whom said a man who drives a dark-colored pickup truck is known to harass women in the area.

Gamble said anyone who has been sexually assaulted is strongly encouraged to report the incident immediately to the Norfolk County OPP detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
