(Finance) – Saipem was awarded a contract worth approximately $ 150 million in Mozambiquewith a duration of about 9 years plus an optional year. The order was awarded by Coral FLNG SA, a Special Purpose Entity incorporated in Mozambique by the Area 4 Partners (Eni as Delegated Operator, ExxonMobilCNPC, GALP, KOGAS and ENH), for maintenance services of the Coral Sul FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas) for the liquefaction of natural gas offshore Mozambique.
The services and solutions company for the energy and infrastructure sector explains that Coral Sul FLNG is a floating natural gas liquefaction plant built to produce natural gas from the Rovuma basin, about 250 km north-east of Pemba and 50 km from the Mozambique coast. It is the first FLNG operating in ultra-deep waters, connected to a submarine system at a depth of about 2,000 meters.
