Secret change brings more loot for those who like to grind

Season 5 brought new content to Diablo 4 and different ways to farm loot. A change to the reputation system allows you to grind even if you have already completed it.

Season 5 started in Diablo 4 on August 6th and brought numerous changes to the uniques and new content for the endgame. There is also a reputation system again, “The Mother’s Gift”, which is reminiscent of that of the Iron Wolves in Season 4.

Grinding reputation is a good way to get loot and mats – and on the last level you also get a “Magnificent Spark.” But the grind apparently doesn’t end with the last level this time, because a player has discovered that there are further rewards after completing it. This makes the reward system virtually “infinite.”

Reputation system enables “Repeatable Rewards”

What has changed? Once you completed the last level of the reputation system in Season 4, you were “done” with it. In Season 5, however, there is a way to keep grinding. In a post on Reddit, a player shows a screenshot of the “Repeatable Reward.”

This means that even if you have completed all reputation levels, you can still get items and mats. Perfect for anyone who likes to grind and can’t get enough of the system. We don’t know exactly which items and mats the box contains at this point.

The chest with the infinity symbol appears apparently once you have completed all 20 levels of the reputation system:

How is this received? In the comments under the Reddit post, players are discussing the change. “Blizzue” expresses his surprise that someone has already figured this out with “It’s day TWO!” And “Nigwyn” says: “All they have to do is add this to the XP bar after level 100 and we’ll have a pretty solid endgame foundation.”

User “ShawnyMcKnight” writes that he would be happy if the box contained mats for completing items. And another user writes on Reddit “It would be great if there was a chance of getting a box with a Magnificent Spark.”

How does the call system work? At the beginning of the season, you will receive the new seasonal quest line “Of Lambs and Wolves.” As you progress through the quest, you will unlock the reputation system, which you can then access in Zarbinzet near Istel.

To farm reputation, you collect “Gifts of the Mother” from elite enemies, Hellbloods, champions and bosses. The system has a total of 20 levels that contain various rewards, including seasonal side quests, Hell Compasses, (boss) mats and items.

One way to collect the “Gifts of the Mother” is through the Hell Hordes. This is a new endgame activity in Season 5 that is available from World Level 3. There you fight against waves of monsters and three bosses to collect “Burning Aether”. With the Aether you can secure rewards that you can choose from.
