Bargaining may not always be so easy. It can also feel rude and uncomfortable. But if there is somewhere you should haggle, it is in smaller individual shops, in markets or places with market trade, reports Aftonbladet.

This is how you haggle in the best way
But what to do then? It is important that you are determined, that you have cash and that you are a bit of a flirt. According to the savings economist Sharon Lavie there are five important tricks to use when it’s time to haggle.
Do research
Create an idea of what the product you are interested in might cost.
Suggest half
Start by giving a low price proposal, preferably half of what you suspect the product costs. Then you can usually meet in the middle.
Trade with cash
Show that you have cash. It is a more efficient way to trade and is often preferred from the trader’s perspective. Shopping with cards can entail costs for the merchant, and they naturally want to avoid that.
Always have gear
It makes it easier for both you and the merchant.
Suggest bulk purchase discount
If you are interested in buying several things, you can often argue for a good discount, simply a package price.
Don’t be too anxious
It might pay to leave. You can say that you can probably find a better price elsewhere, or that you need to think a little. Then the traders are usually willing to meet you at a desirable price.
That’s what savings economist Sharon Lavie advises The evening paper.
