Sailing: Medal weather for the Swedish sailors before the decision: “Others are more nervous”

Dahlberg/Karlsson are fourth in the overall standings, only four points behind third place Japan, ahead of the decisive medal race. An exciting battle for the podium places awaits.

– It’s very exciting, we’re actually quite optimistic. We think that the others are probably a little more nervous than we are, says union captain Magnus Grävare.

  • Dahlberg/Karlsson would have run a final race on Wednesday, but at 16.30 the competition committee announced that it had been canceled after the wind strength varied greatly during the day.

    “Put on a show”

Nor could the catamaran class Nacra 17 finish its medal race on Wednesday. The boats went out on the water for a possible start but had to turn back home.

Olympic debutants Emil Järudd and Hanna Jonsson are ninth in the class, beyond a medal chance, ahead of the finish tomorrow.

    – There were very capricious winds and it is not so exciting to watch Nacra when it just “drifts” forward. So we hope to put on a show tomorrow instead with more wind, says Emil Järudd to SVT Sport.
