In Estonia, a Russian-Estonian journalist is accused of treason and violation of sanctions against Russia, the country’s prosecutor’s office said in a statement sent to news agency AFP on Wednesday.
Prosecutors say that according to evidence gathered by Estonian security services, the accused journalist Svetlana Burtseva is a propagandist and worked for the benefit of entities serving the goals of the Russian state.
The accused has worked for several years with the Estonian online publications of the Russian state-owned news company.
The spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry says in a statement published on the ministry’s website that the charges are fabricated.
