Therese Johaug makes a sensational comeback – the Norwegian now admits her big decision herself: “See you in the track”

Therese Johaug is back.
The Norwegian ski star is making a comeback and aiming for the WC in Trondheim in 2025.

The 36-year-old writes on his Instagram:
“I look forward to what is possible to achieve and hope that I will be able to take part in the folk festival that the WC in Trondheim will be. See you at the track.”

It has been a talking point for a long time. Will Therese Johaug make an international comeback and aim for the WC in Trondheim in 2025?

Now the answer is yes.
“After two eventful years on the sidelines, I have once again had the opportunity to become part of the Norwegian Ski Association’s cross-country effort and want to give the dream of the WC on home soil a chance,” writes Johaug.

In March 2022, the Norwegian skiing legend ended his career – but returned to the slopes last winter. She competed in the Norwegian championships and won a superior gold in the three mile. Something that fueled speculation about a possible international comeback.
– If you’re going to be there weekend after weekend and possibly next season and in a five-mile race in Trondheim, you have to step it up a notch, she told NRK after the competition.

Karlsson’s words

The Norwegian national team coach Sjur Ole Svarstad said in April that the 36-year-old has a place in the national team if she wants.
– I hope Therese will come to the conclusion that she wants to invest next year. She is very welcome, he told NTB.

The Swedish national team skaters have been asked several times how they view a possible comeback. Frida Karlsson has previously told TT that she believes interest in the sport would increase with Johaug back.
– I hope she comes back. It would be fun. We stand with open arms and wait. She is our old professional yardstick, she said in March.
