Therese Johuag makes a comeback in cross-country skiing

The Norwegian cross-country skier Therese Johaug announced on Wednesday that she has made a decision about her future and called a press conference.
And on Instagram, the skiing icon now confirms that she is making a comeback, and is aiming for the WC 2025 in Trondheim.
“I want to give the dream a chance,” she writes in the post.

Next year, the World Cup in cross-country skiing will take place in Trondheim, Norway, and for some time there have been rumors that Therese Johaug, who ended her skiing career in March 2022 after three Olympic gold medals, could be on the starting line then.

The Norwegian star has already returned to the tracks after having a daughter and last winter won a superior gold in the three-mile at the Norwegian championships by almost three minutes.

“Still have something to contribute”

The Norwegian national team coach said as recently as April that the 36-year-old has a place in the national team if she wants.

And on Wednesday, she announces in a post on Instagram that there will be a comeback, and that she is aiming for the World Cup in 2025.

“Both in the NM and in tests, it seems to me that I still have something to contribute to the ski track. I am excited to see what is possible to achieve,” writes Therese Johaug, who has won 82 World Cup victories, 14 World Cup golds and four Olympic golds, among other things in her career, in the post, and continues:

“See you in the track”.
