Their findings RedditPosting on , BoyDynamo has posted a few screenshots that show Bethesda thinking about the future when designing Fallout 3. Those familiar with the Fallout series know that this vault is where players start in the MMORPG Fallout 76. It’s unclear whether this is truly a foreshadowing or if Fallout 76 is retroactively using the concept, but it does show how connected the Fallout universe is.

“I’m not sure they planned the games for that long. They might have just added more information and decided to use it later,” Reddit user BigJuicy17 commented on the matter. This shows how, like Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls series, information from previous games forms the basis for new games.

Regardless of when the inspiration for the Vault 76 mention came, it’s always great to see callbacks and foreshadowing used in such a large-scale series. “Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4, and ’76 are all hinted at in this game. Lyons tells his character about troubles in the west, Zimmer has a synth holdup mission, and Vault 76 is mentioned in a terminal and by an alien abductor,” Reddit user Chueskes noted, drawing attention to the Fallout series’ rich storytelling.
