After the warm and humid weather – now comes the cold

Rain, wind and falling temperatures await as a cold front and low pressure move in over the country.
– The temperature will find it difficult to reach above 20 degrees, says TV4 meteorologist, Ingrid Eronn.

So far this week, the weather has offered temperatures between 20 and 24 degrees and sun with variable cloudiness. But now the weather is unsettled with a cold front approaching.

Two weather fronts move in over the country from the west – first a warm front on Wednesday, which is then followed by a cold front during the day on Thursday.

– Both can bring rain, but mainly the cold front can locally bring larger amounts. However, it passes rather quickly and behind it it breaks up again, says TV4 meteorologist Ingrid Eronn.

During Wednesday, rain is expected mainly in southern Norrland and locally in Svealand.

Falling temperatures

In connection with the cold front moving in on Thursday, temperatures are expected to drop to 15-20 degrees across the country.

– It is lower than what we have had recently, says Ingrid Eronn.

This occurs in combination with upwards of 20 millimeters of rain during Thursday.

– It will pass over the whole of southern and central Sweden.

Unsettled weather persists

The unsettled weather then persists for the rest of the week. Thursday’s cold front will be followed on Friday by a low pressure with rain that will move up over the whole country during the weekend.

– Behind the low pressure and the rain, it will be windy with showers and the temperature will have difficulty reaching above 20 degrees.
