American gymnastics star Simone Biles left the Paris Olympics last night (August 5, 2024) with four medals, including three titles. A great revenge for the woman who withdrew from the Tokyo Olympics three years ago to “take care of her mental health.” Like Biles, tongues are loosening to put words to the problems that the greatest athletes go through. Is mental health still a taboo subject in high-level sport? How has the treatment evolved?
To discuss it :
– Gregory Boulicaultmental trainer, he accompanied nearly 150 athletes including five participating in the Olympic Games
– Elise Anckaert, sports psychologist and clinician at INSEP (National Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance)
– Guillaume Dietsch, teacher in STAPS (Sciences and Techniques of Physical and Sports Activities) at the University of Paris-Est (UPEC) and author of the book Young people and sport, published by De Boeck Editions.
