The extremist organization Hamas has named its supreme leader by Yahya Sinwari assassinated last week in Tehran to Ismail Haniyeh in place of.
Hamas tells about it in a press release.
Before his appointment, Sinwar served as Hamas’ Gaza leader. Now Sinwar will be promoted to political leader of the organization.
Sinwari is considered the main architect of Hamas’ attack on Israel in October. In the attack, fighters from Hamas and other extremist groups in Gaza killed about 1,200 people and took about 250 hostages.
