    The distribution of meal trays is a moment that many passengers look forward to when they travel by plane, and yet it is often disappointing because you can grimace after the first bite… unless you have booked your flight with a Middle Eastern airline.

    On-board Wi-Fi, super-large screens, a very comprehensive entertainment portfolio… Many Middle Eastern airlines like Emirates or Qatar Airways are already renowned for the comfort of their cabins, and not just in business class. And that’s not their only asset. While some are already known for providing a great experience for their youngest travelers, older ones also enjoy delicious quality when it comes to distributing the trays.

    This is particularly true for Kuwait Airways, which came in first in a ranking based on 27,000 traveler reviews of the taste of the culinary offerings of around 100 carriers. Established by the website MoneySuperMarketthis listing reveals how much Middle Eastern airlines have the know-how to delight their passengers.

    The podium is indeed monopolized by these carriers, while still reserving some surprises. Because it is not Emirates or Etihad Airways that stand out first, but successively Oman Air (2nd) and Middle East Airlines (3rd). The rest of the ranking also includes Turkish Airlines (8th), Qatar Airways (14th), Emirates (15th), Etihad Airways (18th), Gulf Air (21st). Even in business class, the Middle Eastern airlines confirm their supremacy.

    However, one might be surprised by the absence of Air France, which has had a culinary laboratory since the early 1970s. Its subsidiary Servair is indeed a world leader in airline catering. It has partnered with many Michelin-starred chefs to perfect its culinary offering. Long reserved for first and business class passengers, the experience has also been available to economy class passengers since the end of 2023 thanks to the partnership with chef Frédéric Simonin. The French national airline is only 77th.
