The most requested game on Steam is about to be released. The developers have now spoken out and announced whether the game will be released on time. They also have a request for the fans.
What game is it? We’re talking about Black Myth: Wukong by developer Game Science. It’s an action RPG whose gameplay is very reminiscent of Soulslikes and may be a competitor to the market leader Elden Ring.
In Black Myth: Wukong, more than 160 enemy types and over 80 bosses await you. The story of the single-player title is based on the Chinese novella “Journey to the West”. You play a monkey king who defends himself against various enemies using a staff, magic and transformations.
Black Myth: Wukong is awaited by many players and is currently the most requested title on Steam (via steamdb.info). The game is scheduled to be released on August 20, 2024. The developers have announced in an update whether this date can be met.

What do the developers say? Anyone who feared that Black Myth: Wukong would miss its release can breathe a sigh of relief. On X, the developers write that the game is now finished and will be released on time.
At the moment it is still being tested extensively to eliminate any bugs. To shorten the waiting time, the developers have announced a new trailer that will be released on August 8, 2024.
Before you can start playing, however, the team behind the game has a request for fans: You should avoid unpublished content before release in order to have the best possible experience with the finished game:

On which platforms can you play? The game is available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It will also be released for the PS5 and WeGame, a Chinese distribution platform from Tencent. Among other things, there is a special collector’s edition of the game for a whopping 400 euros.
