The message from the Council of State is clear: the China began to enter into ” a economy mature ” and it is imperative to increase the proportion of the service sector in the Chinese economy. On the one hand, it has the will to bet on domestic tourism. To do this, the government will encourage the development of new tourism industries such as yacht cruises or caravan camping across the country.
On the other hand, it will also emphasize tourism from abroad. Here, Beijing needs to speed up the resumption of flight frequencies, offer various payment services and consider expanding the range of visa-free countries, because it has paid off.
In the first six months of the year, more than 14 million foreign nationals entered China through various ports, an increase of 152.7% year-on-year. More than half of them benefited from the visa-free policy, an increase of 190.1% year-on-year. For the time being, only 15 countries including France, Germany and Australia are covered until the end of 2025. But this list could grow very quickly.
