Man died after catheter failure

In February this year, a man living in a nursing home in Örebro county had a catheter intended for women inserted, which led to blood in the man’s urine.

When this was discovered, the man received a new catheter, but the following day the man died and according to the nursing home’s report to the Inspectorate for Care and Care (Ivo), it cannot be ruled out that the mistake caused the man’s death.
