Following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, the Middle East has once again become a hotbed. While a step is awaited from Iran, which has vowed revenge, the successive moves from the US are ringing the bells of war. 700 terrorists were sent from Hasakah, which is occupied by the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, to the US base near the Euphrates River, which is the contact line of Iran-backed groups.

THEY WERE SENT WITH A CONVOY OF 70 VEHICLES

According to information received from local sources, US forces transferred 700 terrorists from the PKK/YPG and the Sanadid forces formed by Arabs from the Robarya, Rümeylan and Şeddadi bases in Hasakah to the Koniko and Ömer oil field bases near the Euphrates River, which is the contact line of the Iranian-backed groups.

From the bases in Hasakah, US forces also sent a military convoy consisting of 70 vehicles, including closed ammunition cases and Humvee-type armored vehicles, to the Koniko and Ömer oil field bases.

The previous day, US forces had transported personnel from Iraq to the Rmeylan base in Hasakah province with four helicopters.

US officials, who made the first assessment of the attack, reported that the attack on Al Asad air base was a missile attack and that some American soldiers were injured in the attack.

While the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) has not yet made an official statement regarding the incident, it is not yet known whether the attack in question was carried out by Iranian-backed groups as an extension of the rising tensions between Iran and Israel.

INTIMIDATION FROM THE US: WE WILL PROTECT IRAN

Meanwhile, State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller answered questions from reporters at the daily press briefing regarding the rising tensions in the Middle East following the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Ismail Haniyeh.

Miller said that they have sent “consistent messages” to the Iranian government through people they are in contact with within the framework of diplomatic contacts, stating that “it is not in their interest to increase tensions and that the United States will protect Israel.”

Miller said a wider Middle East conflict was “inevitable” but that the United States would “continue to work to prevent it from happening”, stressing that escalating tensions would serve no one’s interests in the region.

“But of course we are prepared for all possibilities. That has been the case since October 7,” Matthew Miller said.

US CONTACTS IN THE REGION

Spokesperson Matthew Miller shared the information that Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdulati yesterday regarding the tensions in the Middle East.

Miller said Blinken underlined that the talks were “going through a critical period for the region and stressed the importance of the parties refraining from escalating tensions and calling for calm.”

“The Secretary is also making clear through these engagements that the United States continues to view a ceasefire in Gaza as a critical step to help defuse broader tensions, while also securing the release of hostages and addressing the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza,” Miller said.

“Any additional Iranian action would only increase the risk of escalation, the likelihood of further responses from Israel or others, and ultimately put us in a position to spiral out of control into the kind of conflict that we’ve been worried about from the very beginning,” Miller said.

THEY ARE SENDING REINFORCEMENTS TO THE AREAS OCCUPIED BY THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION

With the start of Operation Peace Spring in October 2019, the US evacuated its bases in the operation area and prioritized settling around oil fields.

US forces, which continue to support the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, are currently present in many bases and military points in the regions occupied by the organization in the provinces of Hasakah, Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor.

Washington is also constantly sending reinforcements to military bases and points located in oil fields occupied by PKK/YPG terrorists.
