An airstrike was carried out late Monday evening in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. Several Russian missiles and drones were fired at the city and its surrounding areas.
Several loud explosions were heard in Kyiv at 11:00 p.m. after an air raid alert had been issued in the city. According to the news agency AFP, the explosions shook the city center and eastern parts. An AFP journalist reported hearing five loud explosions in the Pozniaky district in the eastern part of Kyiv.
– Air defense is operational in Kyiv. Stay in the bomb shelters, mayor Vitali Klytsko wrote on the messaging service Telegram.
– The enemy has made a missile strike in the direction of Kyiv and its suburbs, the head of the city’s military administration Serhi Popko later confirmed on Telegram.
