For several years, elderly patients lost their bank cards while receiving care at Södersjukhuset in Stockholm.
The police were finally able to point out a woman in her 40s who was employed at the hospital, for the thefts.
She allegedly handed over the cards and codes to a former colleague, who in turn withdrew the money, the newspaper writes.
Now both are convicted of gross fraud. The woman in her 40s admitted the thefts and was sentenced to one year and three months in prison.
The other woman denied the crime, but she too was sentenced to one year and six months in prison.
