Joao Neves moves to PSG Sports in a nutshell

According to Transfermarkt, the 19-year-old youth star becomes the sixth most expensive teenage player in history.

The football club PSG has signed a five-year contract with the midfielder Joao Neves with, the club confirms on its website.

The 19-year-old super promise has been one of the most wanted players of the soccer summer. According to media reports, the contract is worth around 70 million euros.

– I am very proud to join Paris Saint-Germain, a very ambitious club, said Neves in PSG’s press release.

According to Transfermarkt, Portuguese Neves becomes the sixth most expensive teenage player in history. Only Kylian Mbappe, Joao Felix, Mathijs De Ligt, Romeo Lavia and Anthony Martial transferred with higher transfer amounts under the age of 20.

Neves played the previous two seasons in the representative team of the Portuguese club Benfica. Last season, three goals were scored in 33 matches. Neves represented Portugal in two matches at the summer European Championships.

President of the French Society Nasser Al-Khelaifi is happy that the Parisian club won the competition for one of the most wanted players of the summer.

– Joao is one of the most talented players in Portugal and in the world, stated Al-Khelaifi.
