Streamer is insulted and trolled by her fellow players in CS2 because she is a woman

A streamer is insulted by her fellow players in Counter-Strike 2, pelted with flash grenades and shot.

What happened to the streamer? A small streamer named “limepurp” posted a two-minute compilation of a Counter-Strike 2 match on Reddit. She wrote: “Stop throwing games because there’s a woman on your team.” A “thrown game” is a match that was lost even though you had a chance.

In the clip, you can see some of the streamer’s teammates messing up the game. It all started because limepurp was playing the SCAR-20. The streamer got 2 kills, which is why she initially thought her opponents were angry. Then she realized that it was a teammate who wrote “Stupid bitch” in the chat.

She replied that he was just mad because he was at the bottom of the scoreboard. The player then shot at the streamer, threw flash grenades at her and continued to insult her, always targeting the fact that she is a woman.

Another player on the team tried to calm the situation down and wrote that they shouldn’t be toxic and that it doesn’t matter that she is a woman. However, that didn’t help and a second player started griefing and insulting the streamer.

“Valorant is not as bad as this game”

Streamer draws comparison to Valorant: During the stream, limepurp talked about her experiences as a woman in Valorant, CS2’s big competitor. One viewer wrote that Valorant was the exact opposite. The streamer responded: “Valorant is not as bad as that game.”

Limepurp then explained that she had also experienced such behavior in Valorant. In both Valorant and Counter-Strike, most players are relaxed, but she estimates that she has such an experience in around 20% of all CS2 matches. In Valorant, she estimates that it is “only” around 10 percent.

Valorant is also considered a game with a very toxic community and, as a tactical shooter, is often compared to Counter-Strike due to some gameplay similarities. In Valorant, too, some women have reported bad behavior from other players that they experienced because of their gender.

One case that gained attention involved streamer TaylorMorgan. She was asked in Valorant if she knew what rape felt like. She then asked Riot Games that such players should receive a permanent hardware ban.

In other games like World of Warcraft, women are also kicked out of groups and continue to have bad experiences.

In order to be able to empathize with the experiences of female gamers, some streamers posed as women in an online experiment and were shocked by the result: 3 Twitch streamers pretend to be women in voice chat and are shocked by the reactions: “It takes away your desire to play”
