Anatoli Bondartshuk, the 84-year-old moukari legend of yesteryear, is still helping the superior moukari winner of Paris and his coach. The winning margin was almost historic.

PARIS. When Canada Ethan Katzberg last year in Budapest loaded a cap worth the World Cup gold from the moukari cage, many wondered if the bohemian and personable 201-centimeter guy from Vancouver Island would be a one-trick wonder.
– I understand that well, but that’s not how it happened, Katzberg laughed to Urheilu late Sunday evening in the stands of Stade France. The Olympic victory was his.
Only 22-year-old Katzberg broke the opening round of the Olympic final, so to speak, with his throw of 84.12. Only the Soviet Union Sergei Litvinovin Seoul 1988, has thrown further in the Olympic rings, 68 centimeters.

In 2022, the predictions did not look like Katzberg 2024 would successfully defend the title race victory from the World Championships in the Olympic Games. The record was 76.36, now 8.02 meters longer.
Only legendary Yuri Sedyh had won moukari’s gold medal at the Olympic Games in Montreal 1976, younger than Katzberg in Budapest.
Interesting doctor
From Sedyh we get to an interesting character behind Katzberg’s success and rapid development. At the Montreal Olympic Games 1976, the father figure and bronze medalist of the trio that took the triple victory of the Soviet Union was the winner of the previous games Anatoly Bondartshuk.
Today, he is an 84-year-old doctor of sports sciences, but the flame of sports burns.
– He is my coach’s coach. Anatoli will still follow my training and keep in touch with my coach a lot. I respect him very much.
This coach was not a hopeless case as an athlete either, because as a shot putter he had no great success Dylan Armstrong achieved Olympic bronze in the shot put in Beijing 2008 under Bondartshuk’s coaching.
A huge profit margin
