Sarah Sjöström won her second Olympic gold in Paris this evening, and third overall, when she won the 50 meter freestyle in superior style.
In doing so, she tied the Swedish women’s record for the number of Olympic gold medals in total.

Stick to the plan
But she sees no end to her career yet, by a long shot.
The 30-year-old, who already made her Olympic debut in Beijing in 2008, has previously said that she aims to also participate in the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. And she is sticking to that plan.
– I will of course be in LA. But what I do until LA I have to plan with the coach, she tells SVT Sport.
“Good with a short break”
With the coach, she means Antonio Lutula. He says this about Sjöström’s Olympic future.
– I don’t think it’s impossible for her to make another Olympics. Sarah really likes working out and swimming and genuinely enjoys the whole lifestyle, he says, and continues:
– I think it would have been good to take a short break and just rest the body and soul. Then, if she feels like it, I definitely think it’s possible with the Olympics in LA in 2028.
