Working to get money for your daily bread, rent and entertainment is a matter of course. But if you have a stable job, it is far from obvious to go back to study. Many are also tired of school after high school and choose to focus wholeheartedly on getting a job.
But it might be attractive if you can kill two birds with one stone, and also not have to take out student loans, and get a salary during the education. Are you hungry?

Training with salary
Far from all jobs offer a salary for those who train, but there are many who do and in several industries, such as healthcare, the construction industry, police and emergency services. This is written by Aftonbladet, which also made a survey of the occupations that offer pay during the study period.
Locomotive driver
Locomotive driver is an example of a profession where this is offered – if you train via SJ. In the admission process to this training, it is mandatory to pass a number of tests. Among other things, an occupational psychological assessment and health examination are carried out, as well as searches in the employment register.
No previous training or experience is required. The training spans 44 weeks and provides a basic salary of SEK 18,325 a month. So in less than a year you are done.

You can also train as a coast guard and at the same time receive a salary of at least SEK 26,000 a month.
The basic education includes two semesters of theory in Karlskrona. After that, a semester’s sea practice is done. If you have not previously taken one of the Coast Guard’s command courses, you need to take one as a fourth semester at the Maritime Academy in either Kalmar, Stockholm or Gothenburg.
Here, too, one needs to undergo a series of psychological, physical and practical tests to enter.
