The Predator series wasn’t doing particularly well when Prey was released. But the film was so well received that not only fans and critics were enthusiastic, but the future of the franchise was secured: two new films are to be shot. What’s so exciting about the film is something you can see for the first time on TV today.

In the year In 1719, Naru actually wants to become a warriorbut is trained as a healer instead. One night she sees mysterious lights in the sky, which she interprets as a sign that her time as a warrior has finally come. In reality, however, these are the lights of an alien spaceship – a Predator dropship.
When a member of her tribe is attacked by a puma, Naru (Amber Midthunder) goes hunting with a search party. On the way, the Comanches come across Traces that do not match the big cat and discover skinned animals. Little by little, the young woman becomes more and more certain that she and her dog must face a completely different, much worse threat.

Prey saved the Predator franchise and even comes close to the original
Since the first Predator film with Arnold Schwarzenegger, the series has gone downhill. In particular, the latest parts of the franchise such as Predator -– Upgrade were not at all convincing. But Prey breathes new life into the hunter from space and brings a lot of a breath of fresh air in the series.
The change of scenery and the shift 300 years into the past were quite obvious exactly what the Predator brand neededPrey even manages to unfold the fascination of the original: Once again, a very special hunter takes on a very special warrior in the wild.
After this emergency rescue, the series is now continuing more successfully than ever before. Two new films are plannedthe first of which may come to us as early as 2025. It is not yet clear whether it will have a theatrical release or whether it will be released directly on stream (as was the case with Prey).
TV or stream: When and where is Prey shown?
For the very first time, you can watch Prey on free TV today. All you have to do is at 20:15 on ProSieben However, since it is broadcast before 10 p.m., you will have to make do with the FSK 12 version, which is shortened by about three minutes.
Afterwards, from 22:10, Predator – Upgrade will be broadcast and an unabridged repeat will be broadcast on TV on October 9th at 0:55 am.
You can also stream the Predator films, and especially Prey, online. You can do this, for example, via the Disney+ subscription or with the usual on-demand suspects such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Magenta TV and Co. However, Prey is only available exclusively on Disney+.
