In the comprehensive investigations conducted by Iranian security and intelligence units in the building where Haniyeh was assassinated, it was claimed that additional explosive devices were found in other rooms of the residence in question. In the incident, which shows that a different security vulnerability was exploited on the same floor of the residence designated for war veterans in Iran and called the “Veterans House”, the unactivated explosives are considered to be part of a series of plans taken in accordance with the possibility of Haniyeh changing rooms. It was claimed that the explosives in question, which were located in three different rooms, were connected to a remote-controlled latch.
HANİYE WAS GOING TO BE ASSASSINATED 70 DAYS AGO
On the other hand, it was claimed that Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated at around 02:00 on the night of July 31, narrowly escaped another assassination attempt in Iran 70 days ago. It was learned that the people or states that targeted the Hamas leader had put into action a plan to assassinate Ismail Haniyeh during the funeral of the leader, but changed it considering the possibility of failure due to the presence of a large crowd during the funeral ceremony.
IS THE MOLE IN IRAN?
It has been alleged that some Iranian security agents played a role directly or indirectly in the process of placing the explosive in Haniyeh’s room. It is alleged that these individuals from the “Ansar Al Mahdi” unit, which is within the Revolutionary Guard and is responsible for the security of high-ranking Iranian officials, were used in the assassination operation. This claim is also reflected in the security camera footage of the building at the center of the attack, which is in the possession of Iranian authorities who are deepening their investigation, and according to the security camera footage in question, it is stated that these individuals, who are currently under investigation as “suspects,” are seen entering and exiting several rooms with objects in their hands within a few minutes.
ASSASSINATION PERPETRATORS ARE STILL IN IRAN!
It is thought that the cell that carried out the bloody assassination and the collaborators inside Iran, referred to as “moles” who aided and abetted that cell, are still within Iranian borders.
On the other hand, Iran took action following the death of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was on its territory as a ‘guest’, and formed a large-scale working group to produce ideas that would show whether the incident regarding the bloody attack constituted a security breach.
MANY PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED
Iran has arrested at least two dozen people suspected of links to the alleged killing of Ismail Haniyeh by Israel in Tehran, The New York Times reported, citing two Iranians familiar with the investigation.
According to the report, those arrested include senior Iranian intelligence officers, military officials and staff of a guesthouse run by the Revolutionary Guard. Iranians fear a major security breach among senior officials made the assassination possible.
