The basketball player who died in a helicopter accident more than four years ago Kobe Bryant’s the former wardrobe changed hands at the auction for 2.9 million dollars, about 2.66 million euros. The cabinet was on sale in New York at Sotheby’s auction on Friday, and was bought by an American collector.
The locker was from the home gym of the Los Angeles Lakers, and Bryant used it for most of his career. Bryant played his entire NBA career from 1996 to 2016 with the Lakers.
According to Sotheby’s, an employee of the hall recovered the wardrobe when the hall was renovated in 2018.
In the auction, the price of the wardrobe almost doubled from the starting price, 1.5 million dollars.
Bryant was selected 18 times to the NBA star. He died at the age of 41 in January 2020.
