A heavy fire broke out in a deserted villa in the Mariekäll area in Södertälje during the night of Saturday.
The emergency services struggled during the morning hours to prevent the spread to a nearby apartment building.
– The house is extremely close to an apartment building and we are working to prevent the fire from spreading. So far we haven’t had to evacuate, that’s plan B, and we hope not to, says Mikael Nygren, officer on duty at the Rescue Service.
The alarm came in at 04.15 and there are no reports of any injuries.
– As we have understood it, no one lives in the villa, says Mikael Nygren.
