Israeli army officials, who asked not to be named, said they received intelligence about the attacks and that they expect a major war to break out by next Saturday.
BIDEN TO NETANYAHU: TENSIONS MUST REDUCE IN THE REGION
According to a written statement from the White House, it was noted that US President Biden gave assurances to Netanyahu about Israel’s security and that “the President underlined his commitment to Israel’s security against all threats from Iran and its terrorist extensions such as Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis.”
During the meeting, Biden and Netanyahu also discussed topics related to new American military deployments to Israel, especially against ballistic missiles and drones.

The statement did not include information on whether the two discussed this issue, as they met for the first time after the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Ismail Haniyeh.
ISRAEL ASSASSINATES HIZBULLAH COMMANDER SHUKUR
According to AA, the Israeli army announced on July 30 that it had killed Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukur in an airstrike on the Lebanese capital Beirut.
The statement claimed that the attack was carried out by warplanes and that the commander who was killed was Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s “right-hand man.” It was also claimed that Shukur “had been directing attacks on Israel since October 8, 2023, and was responsible for the July 27 Majdal Shams attack.” It was also reported in the Israeli press that Shukur had been appointed as the commander of Hezbollah’s “precision missile project” a few years ago.
Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukur was among those on whose heads Washington placed a bounty for his alleged role in the bombing of the US Marine Corps barracks in Beirut in 1983.
