France industrial and manufacturing production disappoint

(Finance) – French industrial production grew less than expected in June. The overall output of Europe’s second largest economy showed a 0.8% increase on a monthly basis, below the +1% analysts’ estimates and after the -2.2% recorded the previous month.

This was reported by the National Statistics Office (INSEE), adding that manufacturing production also reported a monthly increase of 0.8% after -2.7% in May.

On a year-on-year basis, overall industrial production fell by 1.2%, while manufacturing production fell by 1.4%.
