Turkey says on Friday that it has blocked access to Instagram, one of the world’s most popular social media platforms. However, the country’s authorities have not disclosed the reasons for the decision or the duration of the ban.
On Wednesday, the head of the Turkish Communications and Technology Agency Fahrett’s Altun criticized Instagram’s parent company Metaa Hamas leader To Ismail Haniyeh for blocking published condolence messages on their platform.
Earlier in the spring, Turkey also said that it had launched an investigation into Instagram and data processing of possible shortcomings.
