Patch 1.5.0 tweaks all classes and uniques in Season 5 – Patch Notes in German

Season 5 starts on August 6th and changes all uniques and mythic uniques in Diablo 4. The classes will be revised to make their strengths more similar. MeinMMO summarizes the highlights of the patch notes for 1.5.0.

The highlights from the patch:

The majority of the “Campfire Chat” livestream on YouTube on August 1st is devoted to the revision of uniques and class balance. The developers explain that the barbarian is “too strong compared to other classes.” This is due to the special class mechanics and the fact that he has more item slots that offer space for more legendary aspects.

However, they don’t want to simply nerf the Barbarian. They want to keep his class identity and therefore the number of item slots. They want to tackle the problem in a variety of ways.

You can find the detailed patch notes for Season 5 on page two of the article. A little warning: They are VERY long. These are the patch notes for patch 1.5.0, which were already available on the PTR and have now been revised.

Buffs for Sorceresses and Druids

How should all classes become stronger? In the livestream, Lead Class Designer Adam Z. Jackson explains that the developers want to adjust the class balance in several ways:

  • Change in outgoing damage from the class’s core stat
  • Reduction of the power of the barbarians, roughly based on the central passive skills
  • Buffing other class mechanics, skills, aspects and uniques
  • They want to change the percentage of damage that each class receives from their core stats. Previously, players did 1% more damage per 10 points of their core stat. Now the increase depends on the class:

  • Barbarians: 1% more damage per 10 strength (as before)
  • Hunter: 1% more damage per 9 Dexterity
  • Sorceresses, Druids, Necromancers: 1% more damage per 8 core stats
  • To create a certain balance, the developers are also strengthening the Barbarian’s weaker builds. For example, the damage of “Hammer of the Ancients” is increased by 10%.

What does this mean for the other classes? Community Director Adam Fletcher noted in the livestream that the team had received a lot of feedback on the Sorceresses and Druids. The Sorceresses are getting some buffs for their uniques. In addition, all core and mastery skills are being buffed by 15-20%. There are also some improvements in the Paragon board. Druids are mainly getting damage buffs.

According to Adam Z. Jackson, hunters are already in a good position. However, they are getting a few improvements, especially an adjustment to the uniques. Necromancers are getting buffs for their hardening recipes and their damage. In addition, the lucky hit chance of numerous skills is being increased.

    All uniques receive an update

What else needs to change? To do this, the developers are reworking all uniques in Diablo 4. They should become “special” again and be decisive for corresponding builds. The general power of the effects will be increased. Diablo expert Raxxanterax says in his stream that this changes how passive skills and class mechanics interact with each other. It could be fun to create “crazy builds” with them.

Uber Uniques will become Mythic Uniques in Season 5. They will have a purple appearance and a glowing beam when they drop. Your old Uniques will become “Legacy Items” after Season 4, so you will have to farm them again if you want to benefit from the changes on the eternal realm.

There are also changes to the endgame activity “The Pit”: The damage from the pit boss is reduced by 66%. In addition, all players who enter the pit as a group will receive the full amount of mats for completing it.
