One Piece fans are wondering who the hottest character is – but it doesn’t mean looks

In One Piece, the devil fruits give different powers. But there are some that are remotely similar. A fan now wants to know which one can generate the highest temperatures.

Danger: Here are spoilers for Ace, Sabo, Oven and Sakazuki.

Which candidates are in the running? On Reddit, a fan shares four characters and wants to know who is the hottest. Even though two of the characters are shirtless, he doesn’t want to know who is the hottest in terms of looks.

Instead, he wants to know who can generate the highest temperature with his power. There are four people to choose from:

  • Puma D. Ace: He has eaten the fire fruit and can create flames from his body
  • Sabo: Is the successor of Ace and masters a special dragon power technique
  • Charlotte Oven: He has eaten the Heat Fruit and can generate heat with his body (and transfer it to other objects)
  • Sakazuki: He ate the Magma Fruit. It allows him to create magma.

    • All of the characters have eaten a fruit that allows them to create fire, magma, or heat in general. This raises the question of how the characters would fare in a heated duel.

    Unfortunately, one of the characters in the current arc of the anime is no longer alive:

    Only one can become the Temperature Master in One Piece

    What do fans think? Most fans think that Oven has the edge when it comes to temperatures. After all, he ate THE heat fruit and can decide for himself how hot he gets.

    The other three people are limited to the temperatures they can reach:

  • Red-yellow flames are said to have a temperature of around 1,200-1,400 degrees Celsius (via SWR)
  • The temperature of magma can vary between 650 and 1,600 °C (via ZME Science)

    • The temperature ranges could be the reason why Akainu was able to pierce Ace even though he ate the Fire Fruit. Perhaps he was able to reach the upper temperature range that Ace cannot reach.

    However, both characters are defeated by Oven, according to the fans. In the anime and manga, he manages to make the ocean boil within a few seconds. One user writes that an incredible amount of heat would be needed to boil such a large area.
