The man who was shot to death in Upplands-Bro on Tuesday may have been the “wrong” victim. That’s what the prosecutor says, who otherwise does not want to give details about the investigation.

Several media reported on Wednesday that the 35-year-old man who was killed in Upplands-Bro on Tuesday was not the intended victim. Chamber prosecutor Jenny Östling tells TT that the investigation has not yet proven with certainty that this is so.

– We don’t know for sure. But it is a person who is not known to the police from before at all. Given that he is not known from before, it is clear that the thought arises that it might be a misfire, says Jenny Östling.

She says that intensive investigative work is underway and that no one has yet been detained, but otherwise does not want to comment on what is happening.

– At the moment, I will be very careful given where we are in the investigation, so I don’t want to say much more at the moment.

It was around 10pm on Tuesday that several callers alerted about shooting in Upplands-Bro. At the scene, outdoors in central Bro, a man was found with a gunshot wound who was taken to hospital by ambulance. However, his life could not be saved.
