  • Three passenger cars have collided on the E18 just outside Västerås.

    Emergency services, police and ambulance are on site are on site.

  • Lufthansa stops flights to Israel

    The German airline Lufthansa is temporarily canceling all flights to and from Tel Aviv in Israel, several Israeli media reports. According to Lufthansa, the stop will apply until August 8.

    During the morning, 17-year-old Axel Rudakubana was arrested, suspected of having murdered three young girls in the knife attack in Southport.

    Several Swedish teenagers are suspected of having been involved in shootings in Denmark in recent times.

    On Wednesday, a 16-year-old Swedish boy was arrested after a shooting at Blågårds Plads in Copenhagen. He is now in custody on suspicion of attempted murder and weapons possession. According to the Danish news agency Ritzau, he will be detained for 23 days in a closed psychiatric ward.

    As the Swedish teenage boy is not of legal age, both Danish and Swedish social authorities were present during the detention hearing which took place in Copenhagen’s byret (equivalent district court) on Thursday. He denies any crime, writes Ritzau.

    According to Danish police, the teenage boy is not previously known to the police, but at the moment they do not rule out that the shooting is gang-related.

    On Wednesday, a 17-year-old Swedish boy was also arrested together with a 37-year-old Danish woman. Together, they are suspects in a shooting that occurred in Kolding on Wednesday evening.

    A man was hit in the leg during the shooting and the prosecutor’s office has requested the Swedish teenager be detained, writes Ritzau.

    In mid-June, two other Swedish teenage boys were detained for attempted murder outside Copenhagen.

  • More expensive to fill up – prices bounce back

    Leading fuel chains will raise the prices of petrol and diesel on Thursday after Wednesday’s reductions.

    The target price of 95-octane petrol at manned stations is increased by 20 öre to 18.69 kroner per litre, while the price of diesel is increased by 10 öre to 18.09 kroner

    The price of biodiesel (HVO100) will be increased like petrol by 20 öre to 21.04 kroner per litre.

    The ethanol price is reduced by 20 öre to SEK 14.49. The price of vehicle gas is unchanged.

  • Major rescue effort after person falls overboard

    A major rescue effort is underway after a person fell from a leisure boat in Gothenburg’s northern archipelago, writes TV4.

    The Swedish Maritime Administration has rushed to the scene, approximately 25 kilometers west of Rörö, with both a helicopter and a boat.

    A passer-by raised the alarm shortly after 11 o’clock. Another person is said to have fallen into the water during the rescue operation.

    – Both of them should be picked up from the water now, and we are not looking for any additional people, but the rescue operation is not finished yet, Joanna Paraïso tells the TV channel.

    One person is said to have been taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter.

  • 17-year-old remanded for stabbing in Southport – two children leave hospital

    Three children were killed and nine injured, six seriously, in a knife attack during a Taylor Swift workshop in Southport on Monday.

    The 17-year-old boy who is suspected of the murder is in custody, reports AFP.

    The boy will appear at Liverpool Crown Court later today. Due to his age, his name is not being published, but he will be 18 in six days.

    Two of the injured children are allowed to leave the hospital today, reports Sky News.

  • Several cars vandalized

    Several people were seen damaging several cars last night on Aspedalsvägen in Hultsfred.

    Ten cars were damaged, the police said.

    Among other things, the cars must have been sprayed with paint and windshield wipers must have been destroyed.

    A funeral procession for Ismail Haniya is now reported to have begun in Tehran, following the death of the Hamas leader in an attack yesterday. Haniya will then be buried in Doha, Qatar, where he has lived in exile since leaving Gaza several years ago.

    Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei – who previously threatened a “severe punishment” for the death – is leading prayers for Haniya in the country’s capital during the day.

    According to Iranian reports, Haniya was killed in an airstrike. A projectile, according to some sources fired from another country, reportedly reached his residence in Tehran at 02:00 local time on Wednesday night.

    Hamas has described it as Haniya’s death “in an attack by Zionists” and vowed retaliation. Israel’s leadership made a Facebook post on Wednesday that signaled the country was behind, but that post was later removed.
