The man is said to have been shot at in central Åstorp with several shots, and he is also said to have seen muzzle flames, the police write on their website.
The perpetrator must have left the scene afterwards.
The man is physically unharmed.
– There should be nothing to indicate that there was a threat against him in the past, says Tommy Bengtsson, officer on duty at police region South, to TT.
According to the police, the crime classification is attempted murder and aggravated weapons offences. The location is cordoned off pending forensics.
