CNN: Iran blames US for death of Hamas leader Haniyya | News in brief

According to Iran’s UN ambassador, the attack that led to Haniyya’s death could not have happened without US approval.

Iran’s UN Ambassador Amir Saeed Iravani blames the United States Hamas leader Ismail Haniyyan about death, says CNN.

Speaking at the UN Security Council meeting, Iravan said the attack that killed Haniyya could not have happened without US approval and intelligence support. According to the ambassador, the US responsibility cannot be ignored because the country is Israel’s strategic ally and important supporter.

Previously US Deputy Ambassador to the UN Robert Wood said the US was not involved in Haniyya’s death.
