It took the fire department several attempts to free the bird. First, a firefighter tried to get the sparrow up with a broom. That didn’t work. Then he grabbed a garbage clamp. That didn’t work either. The broom was picked up again. With that he was able to get the sparrow up, so that it could fly away again. “With the patience of an angel, we managed to free the sparrow and let it flutter away,” says Voorn. “We are happy with it, it is a good deed.”
