Favor Ofili managed to attend the opening ceremony in Paris and has also showcased the experience on social media.

However, the joy from there has now been replaced by rage.

Olympics in Paris 2024

  • Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-Ting failed gender tests for the WC – but are allowed to compete against women in the Olympics

  • Sarah Sjöström is praised by the competitor before the final of the 100 meter freestyle

  • The Nigerian has been told that she will not be able to participate in the 100 meters in the athletics.

“It is with a heavy heart that I have been told that I will not compete in the 100 meters at the Olympics. I qualified, but the officials at the AFN (African Athletics Federation, editor’s note) and the NOC (Nigerian Olympic Committee) failed to register me,” she writes in a post on Instagram.

    Raging at those responsible

She demands that it be acted upon.

“If those people behind this are not held accountable for taking the chance away from me, it will not be possible to trust the organizations in the future.”

The idea is that she will compete in the 200 meters, where she “hopes to be registered”.

The 100m final will take place on Saturday evening and the 200m will take place on Tuesday.
