A man in his 70s who was missing after a drowning alarm in Piteå on Saturday has been found dead, reports SVT Nyheter Norrbotten.
According to the police, the man disappeared after trying to swim to catch up with a drifting boat. A major search effort was launched with helicopters, drones, rescue services and divers, but without success.
According to the police, the man was found after he floated ashore in Svensbyfjärden outside Luleå. Relatives have been notified and there is no suspicion of crime.
