The growth in height of conifers has continued to increase. This is shown by a study from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, SLU, writes ATL.

A study conducted between 1983 and 2020 shows that a pine with 50 annual rings at breast height was 16.5 meters high in 1983 and an equally old pine was 18.25 meters high in 2020. The figures for spruce were 16.4 and 18 meters. In the 1950s, the average height was 12 meters.

The researchers believe that it could be, among other things, that the level of carbon dioxide in the air has increased.
