AFC Eskilstuna after the million debts: Local entrepreneurs support the club

The Danish company JCR Holding, which joined as a partner at the beginning of the year, is thus leaving the joint-stock company behind the division 1 club. The local entrepreneurs become minority owners, while the largest owners are the club’s members.

The club’s plan is now to hold a by-election in August where vacant seats on the board are to be filled.

One who can become the new chairman is the entrepreneur Håkan Ringkvist. According to Ringkvist, the club contacted him and since then he has had meetings with them and several companies.

Urgent debts must be paid off

SVT Sörmland has previously reported on the club’s debts of millions and that they risked bankruptcy.

But with the help of the entrepreneurs who contributed money, the most urgent debts will be able to be paid off, according to Ringkvist.

After that, the focus is on solving other debts. And for that there are several possible entrances, he says. Among other things, academies abroad who can think of stepping in with money.

– If we get all these pieces of the puzzle, I see no problem getting a prosperous club.
