A couple of days ago, Time Magazine presented a list of 100 destinations that they named “The world’s greatest places”. The list names 50 tourist destinations and 50 hotels from near and far, with Sweden receiving two awards.
Among our Nordic neighbours, Norway and Sweden have two places, and Iceland one place on the list.

The one Swedish destination designated is Hornsgatan on Södermalm in Stockholm.

As Scandinavia’s fashion capital, the award on Hornsgatan is justified as an area with outstanding sustainability thinking. The Times calls the place the “Slow Fashion District” and claims that it is teeming with second-hand and vintage shops, which is the opposite of “fast fashion”.
“Stockholm has long been Scandinavia’s de facto fashion capital. Founded by Stina Löving, Mikaela de Verdier and Therese Forsberg, the newly named Hornsgatan Slow Fashion District is home to 19 secondhand and vintage shops in and around Hornsgatan’s main street,” writes Times.

Michelin restaurant in Skåne
The second award was given to Daniel Berlin’s two-star restaurant “Vyn”, located in Simrishamn in Skåne.

The newspaper writes:
“Berlin’s hyperlocal menu of around 16 dishes consists of a sustainability philosophy with ingredients that he himself collects, grows and hunts from both land and sea.”
