The action role-playing game Visions of Mana will be released next month. You can now test a free demo that will let you experience some of the game.
Visions of Mana is a new action role-playing game from Square Enix and Ouka Studios, scheduled to be released on August 29, 2024 for PC (via Steam), PS4/PS5, and Xbox Series. It will be the latest installment in a series that began in 1991.
In this country, the game that started the Mana series is known under the title Mystic Quest. But the direct successor is probably even better known in this country. Secret of Mana caused a sensation on the Super Nintendo from 1993 onwards.
The last real part of the series was released in 2006. Fans had to wait almost 20 years for a new part and since then have only been able to enjoy remakes or mobile spin-offs for cell phones or Nintendo handhelds.
If you haven’t heard of this series before, you can get an idea of what to expect in Visions of Mana with this trailer:
What does the demo have to offer? You can now play the free demo, which not only gives you a glimpse of the story, but also promises battles and exploration.
In the demo you can experience the first chapter of the story. You start in Rime Falls and then explore different areas. You can even face the boss of the chapter at the end of the demo to get a first impression of the more challenging fights in the game.
In order to get the most out of the demo experience, you should also be able to team up with the other group members Val, Creena and Morley. So you will get to know a few more characters than just the protagonist.
In addition, you can experiment with two different classes during the demo and you should be able to transfer your save from the demo to the full game later. Among other things, you unlock three weapons for Val during Chapter 1, which you can then transfer directly. MeinMMO editor Nikolas Hernes recently reported on why he loves anime games: I love anime games on the PS5, even though most of them are pretty bad.
