It was on July 26 that the Olympics in Paris began with a grand opening ceremony where the standard bearers of the competing countries traveled along the Seine River.
For Sweden, it was the sailor Josefin Olsson and the show jumper Peder Fredricsson who acted as representatives during the inauguration.

Several Swedish medals in the 2024 Olympics
Just over a week into the Olympic Games, Sweden has won three medals. Victor Lindgren won a silver medal in the 10 meter air rifle on Monday and before that trick Tara Babulfath and Jenny Rissved each a bronze medal in judo and mountain bike.

Malin Baryard Johnsson is kicked out of the national jumping team
Several Swedish medal hopes remain – not least when it comes to the national jumping team, which during the Olympics in Tokyo 2020 took gold in the team jumping. That was then Peter Frederickson, Henrik von Eckermann and Malin Baryard Johnson who jumped to the gold coin.
But ahead of this year’s Olympics, the team looks different. Recently it became clear Rolf-Göran Bengtsson would take a place in the team, while Baryard Johnsson is being poked.
