Manon Apithy Brunet wins Olympic sabre title Sara Balzer wins silver

At the end of a titanic French-French duel, sabre fencer Manon Apithy-Brunet defeated her compatriot Sara Balzer (15-12) to secure a very first Olympic title and a historic first victory for France in the discipline at the Olympic Games, this July 29 in a completely electrified Grand Palais. After the silver medal obtained together in 2021 in Tokyo, the two French women therefore add an additional gold and silver medal to the French team’s tally.
