The famous TV profile is fired after the sexist comment

The Olympics have started with a bang and for us in Sweden it has started successfully. The Olympic Games are something that should contribute to community, joy and medal rain. Now, unfortunately, the Olympics are being shaken by a sexist scandal that took place during swimming.

One medal per day

The Swedish Olympic Committee, SOK, went before the Olympics with the goal that Sweden should bring home 10 medals from Paris. You can undeniably say that it has started well, during the first three days of the Olympics, you are firmly in the medal league with three medals. The Swedish medalists so far are the following:

  • Tara Babulfath, Judo – Bronze
  • Jenny Rissveds, Mountain bike – bronze
  • Victor Lindgren, Archery – silver

    Getting fired after the comment

It was after Australia’s gold in the 100×4 meter freestyle that a highly inappropriate comment was uttered from the English commentary booth.

    “Fixing her makeup”

It was Eurosport’s seasoned commentator Bob Ballard which expressed itself as follows:

    – Okay, the girls are just getting ready. You know how women are… hanging around fixing their makeup.

This comment has resulted in Bob Ballard being fired from his position at Eurosport.

Eurosport comments on the decision to fire Bob Ballard as follows:

    – During a segment of Eurosport’s broadcast last night expressed himself with an inappropriate comment. He has now been axed as a commentator with immediate effect.

    “I apologize”

Bob Ballard has now chosen to go out on his own Xaccount to apologize.

    – If I made someone sad or belittled someone, I apologize. I am a big advocate for women’s sports.
