Field rider Veera Manninen reached 36th place at the Paris Olympics. Manninen and his horse Sir Greg got 36.80 deduction points from the school test, 18.40 from the cross-country test and 1.20 from the obstacle test. In total, the reduction points came to 56.40.
Manninen said after the school test that the horse had warmed up by the time he went to the arena and was a little tense. At the time, he described the feeling as good, but the small side jump of the last middle gallop left him in the teeth.
The off-road test went well, as all obstacles were passed without errors. However, he received a reduction in his performance due to time penalties.
The obstacle test, on the other hand, went excellently, as all the obstacles were cleared cleanly. The completion time was approximately 82 seconds, while the obstacle course should be completed in 80 seconds.
