3 things you should do before Season 5

Season 5 in Diablo 4 starts on August 6th and you still have some time to secure the rewards and do everything you want to do. MeinMMO summarizes the most important things for you.

When does Season 5 start? Season 4 ends on August 6th and Season 5 starts after that. We expect it to go live around 7pm this evening. There could be a patch beforehand, but maintenance work cannot be ruled out. Season 4 came in May with a major update and pre-loading was not possible – Blizzard said that they were discussing how to improve the process in the future.

Get all the cosmetics you want

Diablo 4’s Season Pass has some cosmetic content that you can only get in the current season. If cosmetics are important to you and you like the style of the Battle Pass, you should grind until August 6th. Highlights include:

  • the mount armor “Demigod Straps” at level 1
  • the city portal “Devouring Malice” at level 13
  • the tombstone “Thrice Shattered Monument” at level 47
  • various cosmetic equipment
  • various weapon skins and emotes
  • If you are a fan of the player titles in Diablo 4 and would like to secure a lot of them, there is another hidden title in Season 4. If you want to collect it, however, you have to complete quite a few tasks:

Clear out your chests and make space

Your characters move to the eternal realm, there is no seasonal content, but there are potions, nightmare seals, equipment items and (uber) uniques. All items share a chest, but you also have several compartments there. Check your inventory too, as a lot of things always accumulate there.

After the season, you still have some time to put items into the “eternal” chest. This can be quite chaotic if you haven’t sorted things out beforehand.

So think about what you want to keep from the stuff you farmed during the season. If you also want to continue playing on the Eternal Realm afterwards, it would be wise to farm certain bosses now so that you can possibly secure some cool Uber Uniques:

    Prepare your next character

If you want to play Season 5, you have to create a new character. However, this character will not start “completely from scratch”, but can take some content with it that you can still prepare now:

  • Complete (at least) the prologue of the campaign to have access to seasonal content
  • Find all Lilith statues that give you permanent bonuses
  • uncover the entire map, or at least collect the teleport points in each city
  • Farm the reputation in the areas and complete the region progress for a faster start
  • When you start a new character, you can pick up a few bonuses if you have been diligent.

All of this takes a while, but you only have to do it once. After that, you’ll have the benefits for your characters in every subsequent season – unless you switch to hardcore. Then you’ll have to uncover the map again and complete the region progress again.
